Location close to various restaurants in the area, the glacier proper and the foothills of Franz Josef. Extremely pleasant and well-appointed rooms come with exceptionally comfortable beds. Exceptionally nice breakfast combined with excellent service.

The hotel is fairly clean, has views of the mountains and part of the glacier. The rooms here are tastefully decorated and a nice size with a balcony. Coffee & tea making machines, a refrigerator, and glassware are a nice touch. Its location is incredible & lovely, short walk to a mini rainforest in the central courtyard as well as the best restaurants.

During my recent stay at Te Waonui, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and helpfulness of the staff. The lodge is conveniently located near the Franz Josef glacier and offers a peaceful atmosphere. The dining room, with its outdoor seating, provided a lovely setting for meals. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options. The highlight of my stay was the assistance from the staff in finding the glow worms, which was truly a fabulous experience. Oh, and the half bottle of New Zealand bubbles as a welcome gift was a delightful treat. I would definitely recommend this lodge for a visit to the area.

View from good sized room of forest. Service very good at times.
Decor dark, room poorly lit. Bar very dark indeed with no staff in attendance.

the location was superb. argentian waiter in restaurant was very attentive and well training; charming fellow.
way overpriced. 2 bottles of waiwere sparking water = $25.00 (1.99 ea at coundown). reception unattended; and when he arrived he chatted to his boss on the phone leaving us waiting. breakfast buffet had inedible eggs

Beautiful building, extremely pleasant and luxurious rooms. Extremely comfy bed, coffee/tea making machines, a seating area, and a writing table. Superb service, great breakfast spread. Everything amazing. Efficient and 1st class staff, stunning location near various restaurants and a rainforest with a mini rainforest in the central courtyard. Also, on the foothills of Franz Josef.

We were amazed by the stunning views from both the front door and the patio door at the back of the hotel. It truly felt like being in a rainforest despite being so close to other hotels. The bathroom with its heated floor and mirror was absolutely fabulous. We wish we had more time to try out the spa! The customer service was top-notch, with valet parking, bellhop services, and a warm welcome with kiwi juice and a refreshing cloth. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff, especially the senior management, made us feel special and welcome. we highly recommend this hotel for a great honeymoon stay.

We had a birthday dinner for our daughter. The food and the service was excellent and the cake, not even asked for, was superb.

As young people, we loved the beautiful rooms with a fantastic forest view. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom had luxurious underfloor heating. The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel also offered free bikes for exploring the nearby rainforests, and we were pleasantly surprised with free tickets to the hot pools next door. The breakfast was delicious, and the hotel's offer of using their pre-paid dinner allowance at other restaurants in town was a great value for money.
Felt well taken care of, no complaints whatsoever.

The location of the hotel is ideal, nestled in a native forest setting. Guests can enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the surrounding nature. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently situated near various restaurants in the area, making it easy to find dining options. Moreover, the hotel is in close proximity to the restaurant for first thing in the morning, making it convenient for guests to have a delicious breakfast.
Some aspects of the hotel's service fell short, with young waiters lacking sufficient training and the 5-course menu not reaching the expected standard.
